Event Itinerary
SPECIAL RUN ORGANISED IN SUPPORT OF THE “IMM 2013”
START:- Thursday May 9th 2013 at the Molino Rosso Hotel in Imola
FINISH:- Wednseday May 15th 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rome
MAY 9th:
Imola Meet old friends and make new ones at the Molino Rosso hotel,
Imola. At the registration, scrutineering and drivers briefing (otherwise known as the meet & greet) coffee and lights refreshments will be served. After this we cavalcade – following our tulip design road books to Imola’s Dino and Enzo Ferrari circuit.
Lunch will be served in the pit garages of this famous F1 curcuit and then we’ll put your driving skills to the test in an Italian Job style auto test in the Paddock area, just before we let you loose on the famous tarmac of this amazing circuit.
Dinner will be at the Molino Rosso Hotel.
MAY 10th:
Imola Enjoy the gastronomic delights and red carpet hospitality of local producers whilst we rally through the beautiful Italian Region of Emilia Romagna. We’ll also get to tickle our tastebuds as we taste some really unique local delicacies and specialities during our lunch stop at a typical ‘Agriturismo’ (a farm style restaurant).
That evening you can compare your notes on the day’s driving over a relaxed dinner back at the hotel.
MAY 11th:
Imola‐Rome Today we will drive some 241mls to Italy`s capital city passing through the beautiful Tuscan landscape of cypress trees and hiltop castles. We’ll stop for morning coffee and a time trial in the market town of Greve and enjoy lunch at an exclusive Chianti Classico producer.
After enjoying the spring sunshine in the grounds and gardens, we head off to Rome for a magnificent welcome Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rome.
May 12th:
Rome Now here’s a question; Have you ever travelled in a convoy with other Minis through the bustling heart if the Eternal City, Rome? No? Have you ever parked your Mini where Ben Hur furiously raced his chariot? No? Well today you will and you will do so in the company of some of our Rome Mini Cooper Club friends who will also join us for lunch in a local trattoria. Dinner will take place back at the Crowne Plaza Hotel followed by the Italian Job Auction.
May 13th:
Rome We’re giving you a chance to get the blood flowing in your legs again by taking you out of your Minis an onto your feet. You’ll be a tourist today and we’ll show you Michelangelo’s masterpieces in the Sistine Chapel and how to discover the Rome of the Caesar’s by ‘roaming’ through the ruins of The Roman Forum.
Lunch at your leisure, though we will offer suggestions whilst dinner will take place back at the hotel.
May 14th:
Rome Back to our Minis for a beautiful drive to the historic hillside town of Tivoli, site of the ancient Roman elite, an exclusive suburb of you like. Your camera is an absolute must today to record the amazing water features of Villa d`Este and the breathtaking Gardens of Villa Adriana.
Lunch locally in a typical spot followed that evening by dinner back at the hotel.
May 15th:
Rome the saying goes: ‘when in Rome… do like the Romans…. and that is what we will do today. We will drive to the beautiful town of
Frascati nestled in wine growing region at the foot of the Alban Hills.
The route is truly one to be admired, so make sure you take your time to soak it all in. Lunch locally.
Farewell dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
May 16th:
Rome After breakfast departure for the IMM or Back to the UK independently or following the Service Van route.
A 3hours drive will take Jobbers from Rome to the IMM festivities in the beautiful region of Tuscany and to an exciting program prepared by the local Mini Club and Italian Job friend Francesco Marziali!
Regular Jobbers may also appreciate the opportunity of touring Italy in Spring instead of Autumn!
